Recreational Classes

2022 – 2023 Recreational Information


Yackel Dance Studio's recreational information for the new dance season!
Please use this information below for reference throughout the year.

Important Dates and No Class Days:
First Day of Classes: September 12
Theme Week 1 - October 3-8 - Pajama Week

Theme Week 2 - October 10-15 - Old Dance Costume Week
MEA Break - October 19-23 (Studio Closed)
Theme Week 3 - October 24-29 - Halloween Dress Up/Bring A Friend Week
Thanksgiving Break: November 22-27 (Studio Closed)
Winter Break: December 22 - January 3 (Studio Closed)
Martin Luther King Day - January 16 (Studio Closed)
Spring Break: March 6-12 (Studio Closed)
No Dance: April 7-9 (Studio Closed)
Recital Dates: May TBD
Final Class Day: May 25

 

Class Attire:
Any color or style dance attire.
Examples include leotards, tights, dance/yoga pants, dance shorts, etc.
No loose-fitting clothes such as tank tops, sweat pants, shorts, or t-shirts.
Boys can wear athletic shorts, t-shirts, etc.
We sell leotards, tights, and dance shorts at Yackel Dance Studio.

 

Shoes:
The following shoes are required for each class.
Tiny Dancer: Pink Ballet Shoes or socks
Preschool - 3rd-grade classes: Pink Ballet Shoes and Tan Tap Shoes (boys should wear black
ballet and black tap shoes)
4th-8th Grade classes: Tan Tap Shoes and Black Jazz Shoes.
All shoes are purchased through Yackel Dance Studio only.

 

Shoe Prices:
Tap Shoes - $30
Ballet Shoes - $30
Jazz Shoes - $45
Footed and Footless tights (pink, black, tan) - $15
Convertible Tights - $20

 

Dance Bags:
All dancers should have a bag to keep their shoes in, labeled with their names.
All dancer's bags can be brought into the dance room for easy shoe changes. 

Street shoes, jackets, and any other clothing can be hung up on a hook or put in a cubby.

Registration Fee:

There will be an annual registration fee of $40 due at the time of registration per family. Tuition Costs:

 

Tiny Dancer (ages 18month - 2) = $150 per dancer for the 12-week session.

The class runs 30 minutes in length

Pre-K (ages 3-5) = $58 per month.

The class runs 45 minutes in length.

Kindergarten - 3rd Grade = $62 per month

The class runs 55 minutes in length

4th-8th Grade = $75 per month.

The class runs 75 minutes in length

Hip-Hop = $58 per month.

The class runs 45 minutes in length

Ballet = $58 per month.

The class runs 45 minutes in length Tuition is payable two months at a time.

 

The payment Schedule is as follows:

September/October, November/Costume, December/January, February/March April/May. Tuition is due on the first of the month (September, November, December, February, and April).

There is a $10 late fee for tuition not paid by the 10th of the month.

There is a $25 fee for all NSF checks.

If you wish to pay with cash or check, please turn in the payment at the front desk or in the black mailbox connected to the desk.

 Online Family Account:  

All of our families will have to set up their online accounts at yackeldance.com.

You will be able to log in at any time to see your account history.

You can pay all of your bills through this online system as well as register for all classes.

You can also set up to have recurring payments for monthly tuition.

There is NO processing fee to use the online account payment system.

Even though you have an account online this does not mean you have to use this system for payment. You can still pay by cash, check, or credit card at the desk each month.

There is a 3% processing fee to use your credit card for payment at the front desk Costumes:

Dancers who participate in the annual dance recital will need to purchase a costume through Yackel Dance Studio.

Costumes are selected by our staff and will be age appropriate.

The costumes are $110. Costume payment is due with November tuition.

Attendance:

Attending class is very important for dancers. Each week we will learn new skills or new sections of the recital dance. If a dancer misses a class and wishes to make up the class, please contact the studio for make-up options. Make-ups are not required.

 

Sickness:

Please keep your dancer home if they are experiencing a runny nose, fever, cough, sore throat, headache, stomach ache, etc.

Covid:

We ask that dancers who test positive for covid stay out of class for 5-7 days after testing. We ask dancers who show signs of covid to please stay home.

 

Cancellation Policy:

If at any time you find the need to withdraw your dancer/s from their class please contact our studio immediately. Tuition for the current month will not be refunded. Once costumes are ordered they will not be refunded.

 

Lobby:

Parents are welcome to stay in the lobby during class however due to Covid we highly recommend drop off and pick up only for dancers 5 years and up.

 

NOTE: 

Parents of dancers under the age of 5 must stay in the lobby for the entire class. We ask that there is no eating or drinking in the lobby area.

 

Restrooms:

Please have your dancer use the restroom before entering their dance class. The restrooms are located behind the desk area.

 

Front Desk:

Please feel free to ask any questions and get information from the front desk staff. We will try to keep you posted on all relevant information via our website and e-mail but if questions arise, the front desk staff is available to help! Please keep us updated on your e-mail address. If your e-mail changes, please update it in your online account.

 

Wi-Fi:

We offer free Wi-Fi throughout the studio for your convenience. Wi-Fi password is: Yackel1967 Recital: We will have our annual year-end recitals in May each season.

 

All dancers will have the option to participate in the recital.

Our Recitals are held at the beautiful Loft Stage at East Ridge High School in Woodbury. Recital Packets with all information will be handed out in March each season.

 

Dress Rehearsal:

All dancers in the recital are required to attend a dress rehearsal prior to the recital. Thank you for being part of the Yackel Dance Family!
